owed to Destiny.

So it was my friend Destiny's birthday recently and I didn't have a gift for her, so instead I presented her with an I.O.U. I told her I would make her something since she knows that I sew stuff. Well she saw me sporting my new bag that I made from a shirt (my last post) and decided that was the style she wanted. So this weekend I set out and bought two blue shirts. I decided soon after purchasing them that plain is way boring so I searched Craftster, my second home, and soon came to realization that it would be bleach stenciling that would spice up this bag. It was a long and slightly painful process but the shirt came out nice. I almost didn't want to cut it up- almost. I followed the same pattern as the last bag but increased the size to 150%. Overall, i'm definitely satisfied. Now I just hope she likes it!

from shirt to purse.

So this is my first shirt recon ever. I didn't take a picture of the shirt before because I didn't have a camera. Picture a men's large shirt with that (same as the purse) image on the front and there you have it. It took alot of time and work but it was totally worth it, and now I know how. I have a feeling next time will be easier and less expensive. It was about $5 to make including all the needles I broke. I got the idea from a girl on crafster. Here's the link if anyone is interested, she explains it pretty well.

the beginning.

I've really been into sewing lately, especially shirt reconstruction, so I decided to do something with my blogger and dedicate a blog to my surgeries. As I do this more i'll get a hang of the whole blogger thing as well as the shirt recon thing, but until then please bear with me. If you have any ideas as well i'm always open to advice.
